Russian Universities NOT in the World TOP 100

According to the BBC, Russian Universities are falling very fast in the world ratings. Faster than you can say Mo-s-c0w!

MGU and St. Petersburgs universities are the Top ranked Russian Universities.

Not surprising, but disappointing - Russia should be doing better with it's oil money!

To be honest they 'used to be hot' but that was during the USSR days.
Now Russia is so much like say Nigeria for instance. Both depend on oil and both countries are very rich but the wealth aint going round.

Take away the basic social amenities, proximity to other Europeans countries and US and some sense of organizations - your end result will be as a matter of FACT - Nigeria.

I don't think Russians will appreciate being called a glorified Naija!

But seriously though some of their schools should improve soon with the skolkovo (speling?) initiative by medvedev and its partnerships with business and western universities.

They don't even need to appreciate the comparison because even they know that its a fact. ))
That said ,surely Russia is better than Nigeria and the Skolkovo IT Center is an example .My grouse is the way the way they are going about it -very Naija-ish.
