What kind of a computer user are you?

What I mean is how hard do you ride your computer?

Personally I am at extreme end, I think, Since I am a cripple and a mild insomniac I am in front of this thing pretty much all the time.

Over the years I have been trying hard to figure out why my computers die so fast. At some point I realized that my "general use" computer is used as much and as hard as server does. I barely ever shut them down. So no wonder an average lifetime of my computers is about 9 months. That's including a very likely replacement of memory during that period. Hard drives last me usually half a year (safe for the backup drives). Keyboards and mice are pretty much throwaways after a few months. Keyboard I am on now is only two months old and I already barely see some of the keys and a couple get stuck from time to time.

I guess I should just buy a server. Alas who has that kind of money.

So what about you?

24/7. Got to reduce the time spent on my laptop though.
God is good!
