Making a living

I ask myself, are they students just trying to make some money or grown up men with families here in Russia or back home? Are some of them stranded here? so stranded that they can’t afford to go back? Who employs them and how much are they paid for brazing the cold weather and nasty looks from passersby? are there no other jobs available?
Maybe I should summon the courage to interview some of them because I’m very much interested in what they have to say. I guess I will do just that.
